Hilary Duncan makes hand-built ceramics inspired by the landscapes and colours of Scotland. Using coloured clays and slips, she draws and prints images onto surfaces of jugs, bowls, platters and sculptural pieces. She graduated in 3D Design from Gray's School of Art in 2009, and works from a beautiful studio at her home, deep in Blackhall Forest. She has had residencies at Gray's School of Art, Fabric of the Land in the Geology Department of Aberdeen University, and worked on projects in schools and community groups. Hilary enjoys sharing her skills, and teaches classes from her studio.

Helen Jackson is a weaver of baskets and sculptures. She is a member of the Scottish Basketmakers' Circle, the Basketmakers' Association and the Heritage Craft Association.
She grows a lot of her willow specifically for colour and collects plant fibres for cordage, looping, coiling and other experimental techniques. She really enjoys teaching passing on skills of basketmaking in all its different forms. www.helenjacksonbaskets.com |
Mel Shand has a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. She lives on a traditional sporting estate where she breeds dogs and paints portraits in oil, and “dirty big drawings” in charcoal, graphite and chalk. Mel participated in Aberdeen's 2014 Wild Dolphin project and the 2017 Friends of Anchor project raising £24k for charity. She has published two books, A Portrait of Our Time and 'A Portrait of the River Dee', In 2016 her play "Alter-nativity" won a national Epic award for community engagement with the Arts. She has recently taken up beekeeping

Sarah Pooley is a textile artist with a passion for colour, thread, texture and light. She studied fashion and textile design at Liverpool University and went on to become a Knitwear Designer for several years. Whilst bringing up her kids, her career has been as an Interior Decorator, but she is now happy to be persuing her creative interests by making textile pictures using machine embroidery, primarily inspired by landscapes. Sarah lives in Hampshire, and is the Quine's visiting artist for events and projects in NE Scotland.
